EV fast-charging network set to grow across Dubai service stations
DEWA and ENOC to expand citywide electric vehicle charging points
DUBAI – The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has signed a contract with ENOC Group to expand the electric vehicle (EV) fast-charging network at ENOC service stations across the city.
The agreement reflects Dubai’s growing commitment to sustainable transport and aims to strengthen infrastructure as demand for EVs continues to rise.
The signing took place at the 27th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX 2025), held from 30th September to 2nd October at the Dubai World Trade Centre. Senior officials from both organisations attended, including Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of DEWA, and Hussain Sultan Lootah, Acting Group CEO of ENOC.
The contract was signed by Waleed bin Salman, Executive Vice President of Business Development and Excellence at DEWA, and Zaid Alqufaidi, Managing Director of ENOC Retail.
New partnership
The partnership focuses on installing additional fast-charging units at ENOC’s service stations across Dubai. The expansion is part of DEWA’s EV Green Charger initiative, first launched in 2014 to encourage the adoption of electric vehicles. Currently, more than 1,500 charging points are available across the emirate, in cooperation with public and private partners.
How does it align?
According to Al Tayer, the agreement supports Dubai’s Clean Energy Strategy 2050, the Dubai Net Zero Carbon Emissions Strategy 2050 and the Dubai Green Mobility Strategy. By scaling up EV charging infrastructure, the city seeks to cut carbon emissions and strengthen its global competitiveness in sustainability.
ENOC emphasised that this collaboration reflects its commitment to the UAE’s green agenda and sustainable innovation. Lootah highlighted that enhancing EV charging services across ENOC stations would help meet evolving customer needs while advancing the goals of the 2030 Sustainable Development Agenda.

The rollout of new fast-chargers is expected to accelerate Dubai’s transition to cleaner mobility. ENOC continues to invest in smart mobility solutions, while DEWA drives efforts to integrate renewable energy with transport infrastructure. Together, both organisations aim to make EV adoption more convenient and accessible for residents and visitors alike.
